JAMES DABILL No1 JSTGGUK Rider has just finished 5th at the penultimate round of the 2010 WTC.
This is a lot better from Dibs and well needed after a month away from home. With Dibs not getting the results he is capable off in France and San Marino this 5th place (actually joint 4th but missed out on the tie-break) was very welcome by the Team. As ive said his riding in both France and San Marino was not bad….just too many mistakes.
The week in between San Marino and Italy Dibs and Jack worked on his weaknesses and was again confident for the weekend, again good in Practice so all was ready!
Dibs was his normal quite and focused self on ‘Race Day’ and morning practice warm-up went well. A slight carburation change made the bike stronger at the bottom and he was happy.
So off we went to the first section which all the top boys cleaned (Fuji dab). Dibs spat a rock out near the end and fived . He kept his head knowing it wasn’t his fault. The second section was easy but tricky and he had a scrappy two…..not a good start. The third was mega hard with a massive climb and step. Fuji,Cabes and Doug all fived this in front of Dibs. He flattened the section with a stunning clean….game on!
Two bad fives on the slippy grass of five and six and another five for flattening the flag on eight…..arrgh!! Dibs again kept his head and battled on. Then we got to section 14 with a big and I mean BIG concrete step which had Dibs’ name written all over it. Toni, Adam, Jeroni, Cabes all fived! Fuji cleaned but only with the help of the big sump-plate on the Mont and some strong toes!
Dibs seems so much more relaxed when he sees something massive….his technique is flawless on big stuff and he actually pi**ed the step on the back wheel…no sump/toes needed…awesome! An easy clean on 15 to finish the lap in a very positive mood…and the crowd loving him!
He didn’t know but he was still bloody 7th after this first lap but seemed to flick a switch in his own head after his awesome ride on 14 and went on a roll. To get his first lap score of 30 down to 13 on his second you can imagine his second lap was pretty good. A daft ‘two’ on the easy stream of section 10 was the only really poor ride of the lap. Id have cleaned it….honestly!
When we got to ‘his’ section 14, Claudi from the GG Factory told us that he must clean the section to get 4th so we wound Dibs up. The crowd was ready and Dibs jumped into the section. A needed dab on the first part was gutting but it was all about the crowd for the final step. Dibs revved the gasser until it nearly burst and leaped at the step and pi**ed it again. Another easy clean on the last to finish the lap happy, Shirty happy, Jack nearly happy and Factory happy.
Bit gutted to miss out on 4th but happy to beat Doug and increase his points gap for 6th in the Championship.

Adam was mega again to finish 2nd and now a slim lead on Fuji for second in the Championship
Loris beat Browny so is now 8th in the Championship.
CONGRATULATIONS TO POL TARRES AND GAS GAS FOR WINNING THE 2010 YOUTH WORLD TRIALS CHAMPIONSHIP!
